Rainy Portland

Written by Nadine Zangerle on . Posted in USA

Portland, Oregon claims to have the largest independent bookstore in the USA. Powell’s City of Books is a multistory building and occupies an entire city block. We strolled around the book shelves and checked out their collections. Afterwards we strolled along the Riverfront and watched the geese and kayakers.

At the Pioneer Courthouse Square we got a good view from the top of the Courthouse. Pictures from old times where located around the windows so you got a good idea how this city must have looked like 100 years ago.

At the massive Forest Park we found the perfect location for camping. For dinner we bought some Indian food at one of the famous stalls and it was really delicious. Good that we only ordered one portion since it was so big.

Unfortunately Portland is one of the wetter cities but well you can’t have sunshine all the time. Than it was time to get to our friend Steve in Idaho. We followed the scenic Highway 30 along the Columbia River Gorge and its several waterfalls.

We really enjoyed this stunning vista.
