Calgary and old cars

Written by Nadine Zangerle on . Posted in Canada

Finally we crossed the border and how comes it is so easy to get into Canada? And the customs are really nice and polite. Let’s see how it will be this time when we go back to the USA. Don’t know, is there a requirement for US customs not to smile or be friendly?

The drive to Calgary was really beautiful. Driving through the Canadian Rocky Mountains was just mind blowing. You will read more about the Rockies in a separate report.

In Calgary we first got some information about sightseeing and highlights of the city. Funny wise the woman from the visitor center was from Germany. Three years ago they had moved to Calgary from Berlin.

She could give us great advices about the northern lights and also a free spot to park overnight at a shopping mall.

So let’s do some sightseeing. Unfortunately only the Gasoline Alley Museum of the Word Heritage Village was open but still, we spent quite some time there. We just like old trucks and cars and to see those old gasoline pumps was just great. Sure we took some pictures.

After a city tour and having a look around the old Fort Museum we went back on the road towards the Rocky Mountains and the Icefield Highway.
