Alto Adige and the mountains

Written by Nadine Zangerle on . Posted in Italy

I just arrived at home when I did some packing for my next trip. Together with my parents and my sister we wanted to drive to my aunt and uncle in the northern parts of Italy. My cousin’s baby would get baptized.

This is when I saw Maya, Danni’s baby and Miriam, Thommi’s little one, the first time. Everyone was surprised since they thought I am still in Vanuatu, in the south pacific.

As usual Uncle Albert took us into the mountains and it was fantastic. The weather was on our side and in our hotel we could relax afterwards in the sauna. We enjoyed the big variety of the breakfast buffet.

I am surprised that I didn’t gain 10 kg after all this awesome food. The great “Vespern” with parmesane and bacon at my Aunt Elisabeth, this unforgettable Pizza at the Rosmarin Restaurant and on Elisabeth’s birthday we had so many different Knödel, just unbelievable. Sorry Michael that you missed out on this feast.

Luckily we did a lot of exercise. We hiked at the Speikboden and Klausberg and enjoyed this panoramic view of the mountains. The hike to the Knutenalm was a bit wet but we managed to walk in between the rain showers.

Maya’s baptism was on our last weekend so Danni, Paul, Maya, Moritz and Maxi arrived and we had a spiritual time with Nici’s Shaman greetings and more incredible food.

Afterwards we drove to Lago de Garda for another family vacation. Meanwhile Michael played tour guide in Berlin with his parents and friends from the USA. They had a great time and some medieval food.
