Caye Caulker with colorful little houses

From Belize City we took a ferry which took us to Caye Caulker. Luckily we had booked a room at the Yumma’s House Belize, which was an awesome place to stay. 

Caye Caulker was actually better than expected. With its small, wooden and colorful houses, sandy roads and only bikes and golf carts cruising along we stayed four days instead of two. 

With two other girls we did two dives at Esmeralda Reef close by of San Pedro. The canyons where awesome to see and all those nurse sharks cruising in and out. Since they were fed by the fisherman who clean there fish and unfortunately also from some dumb dive operators the sharks come really close. 

We saw three turtles, some moray eels and on the safety stop an eagle ray said hello. Unfortunately Michael was already on the boat since we were freezing our butts off. At least he was wearing a long and a short wetsuit whereas I was wearing only a shorty. Fair enough, I couldn’t feel my feet and fingers after the first dive. 

On the Guatemala-Belize-Shuttle we have met Caro and Christoph which we met for a great fish dinner. Once in a while you have to treat yourself nicely and where else can you eat better fish than at the ocean. 

The next days we had to do a lot of planning for our trip. Since we have tickets for the World Championship Michael was booking and checking crazy for Brazil whereas I planned some more for Central America. But Yumma’s House Belize was the perfect place to do some research and bookings.

Comment: colorful, super clean and organized place, haven’t seen such a good
                  kitchen since we are traveling
