Toronto and an old friend

Written by Nadine Zangerle on . Posted in Canada

Here in Toronto we visited an old friend of Micha. Andrew and Micha did there Divemaster together in Koh Tao, Thailand in 2001.

With Andrew’s help we found the perfect “campground” downtown of Toronto and just around the corner of Andrew’s home. At a self-storage place we could park for $ 4 a night. Then we met Andrew’s wife and little cute girl and spend a great week with them.

First we explored the Toronto Island by bike and had a fantastic view to the city’s skyline. Afterwards we walked around Chinatown and Kensington. I liked especially the interesting stores and cafes of Kensington. But the old stunning University buildings made us want to go back to Uni.

Long nights with great conversations with Andrew & Co. combined with good food – barbecue, asian and indian food – we shared great stories. Funny seeing old pictures from Thailand and hearing the story about Micha’s Divemaster training.

While staying in Toronto we also brought our truck and trailer to a special mechanic, who could level our vehicles and a trailer mechanic changed the breaks on our 5th wheel.

A week self contained – no electricity and water – with 4 people is limit so it was time to move on.
