Amy´s and Troy´s Wedding

Written by Michael Zangerle on . Posted in England

We could manage to postpone our Italy trip we did attend Amy´s and Troy's wedding in England. We booked flights and hotel rooms. Taht was great fun, in addition to Troy, his fiance Amy and his parents, also Kres and Marie arrived the very same day. We knew all these guys from the island in Malaysia.

Brighton was a bit wet and cold. At the pier we were almost blown away. The first day we strolled through the beautiful city and sought shelter in a typical English pub. There we met up with Marie and Kres and were already in a cheerful mood when Troy and his friends from the US joined us.

That night we had a great dinner with a larger group we had Troy's birthday we celebrated at a pub. The next day we made our way into Arundel.

In this enchanted village the wedding should take place. Troy's brother took over the wedding ceremony- as a priest of somewhat liek "Star Wars Society". We were all very excited and we were in common that this was the best ceremony that we had ever seen.

We had a great time and it was just beautiful to see all these guys again!

Mamallapurram

As Chennai does not have a lot of flair we stayed away from there completely and took a taxi to Mamallapuram. We had pre booked two rooms as well as a taxi into town. So now troubles here!

Our accomodation is comfortable and we enjoy our last few days in a small tourist town. It’s almost like Kochi but way smaller. In small shops are accessories hiding you could buy and buy and buy. Everywhere you hear the chisels of stone carvers as stone work is great in Mamallapuram. We would like to buy so many things, especially Buddha statues!

Even if the beaches are not as nice as Goa you can find spots to sun bath. We will relax the last few days before Rita and Dieter fly home 26.01. For us it’s time to leave India 27.01. back to KL where we stay some days before we head to our island.

We are looking forward for our Paradise and are happy to see our cats again.

Munnar

Munnar - tea plantation

We arranged aonther trip with our homestay. We went to Munnar into the tea plantation. This trip was really tough but so damn beautiful and the landscape just amazing.

The accommodation we had for this night was just in between the vegetation with a stunning view over the valley. We watched the tea plungers and visited a tea museum.

Unfortunately this was typical Indian. The video room was totally overloaded and the presentation was more a advertisement than anything else. After that video everybody was squeezed into a presentation room where a employee with heavy Indian accent rushed through the procedures of tea production and left us alone into the production room.

Micha’s parents did not understand a single word which made us explain the process again. Sad as this museum had the chance to make it really interesting but did not care about that. Back into our accommodation we found out that many people complained about that already several times.

But still we can recommend a visit at Munnar. Back in Kochi that night we packed for the flight to Chennai next morning.
