Fort Kochi + Backwater
We arrived just fine in Fort Kochi and picked a very nice homesstay – Jojies! There it feels like family. Very clean rooms, best bathrooms we have seen so far in India and a very delicious Kerala breakfast.
We liked this place so much that we stayed longer than planned. Not many people, nobody annoys you. So we relaxed a little bit. We found some good places with Western food. We love Indian food but after weeks a Pizza is also welcome.
Our landlords helped us to contact Superior Kathrine Paulo and to arrange a meeting.
She came to our place with her sister and nephew. That took them almost 3 hours one way! It was a wonderful experience and a great conversation about Nadine Grand Ante.
We discovered so much about her Grand Ante and found out that she also was named Mother Teresa of Nilgiris. After a landslide she collected a lot of money from Germany to help thousands of poor people to rebuild their houses. She lived her live for the poor, the foster kids, the disabled people and old ones. Till today people still know her.
This was a highlight during our trip.

Backwater
We organized a day tour into the backwaters. We headed to Allopay where we boarded the boat with 30 others. We cruised through the small channels.
The landscape was very nice. It reminded us a lot of the Mekong Delta trip last year. We were shown clay production, coconut plantation, etc. We had seen this already but the landscape still was very nice.
